All Compulsions are approved.

In Memoriam

Insurmountable Regrets has been homebrewed for our server.

  • Insurmountable Regret: Your character either regrets something they did or something they didn’t do. This compulsion can only be taken when it matches thematically with the scene currently unfolding. Regret of Inaction and Regret of Action are two Compulsions that are a part of Insurmountable Regret.
    • Regret of Inaction: This time is different; you feel compelled to take the most direct or aggressive choice in this situation. Actions taken not aligned with the most aggressive choice take a -2 to the pool. You cannot TW with others if the roll would have them leave, disengage, or otherwise de-escalate the situation.Example Ways to Clear this
      • Social setting: Being blunt to the point of drastically changing the vibe of the meeting or ruining the meeting.
      • Violent setting: Rush recklessly into a fight without attempting to deescalate or think of one’s own safety.
      • Solitary setting: Forgo scouting during a break in instead just trying the first door you see.
    • Regret of Action: This time is different; you feel compelled to take the backseat or escape in this situation. Actions taken not aligned with leaving, disengaging, or otherwise de-escalating the situation take a -2 to the pool. You cannot TW with others if the roll would escalate or intensify the situation.Example Ways to Clear this
      • Social setting: Fully de-escalating a conflict, disengaging from an important meeting, or not defending from a verbal dressing down.
      • Violent setting: Fleeing the conflict completely, Using discipline to pacify active parties fully, hiding until conflict ends.
      • Solitary setting: Take Paranoia Compulsion instead.

These compulsions end once you’ve given into them, the situation has been resolved, or otherwise hampered so that it is not the primary focus any longer.

Tattered Facade

  • Uncontrollable Flesh Change: Approved must be a rouseable amount used to solve this compulsion. Even for those who counterfeit it via TBA. Thin-bloods who are PHG users may ask for this with the solution being more PHG; must be asked for in this case.
  • Dependency: Approved.
  • Masochism: Approved – Examples ways to clear this: Ventrue mis-citing their lineage in front of primogen, Lasombra admitting their rival is better, Brujah backing down for their cause, Clan/Faction Status loss, losing social combat, or take a Stain. Mind if this is done in public it may lead to Frenzy check(s).
    • Examples ways to clear this: Ventrue mis-citing their lineage in front of primogen, Lasombra admitting their rival is better, Brujah backing down for their cause, etc
  • Overkill: Approved
    • Example Ways to Clear this
      • Social setting: Use of Presence or dominate to turn a business meeting into an inappropriate shakedown. Needless use of flashy Oblivion to accent a threat. Using Dominate on a mortal to put them into compliance without preamble.
      • Violent setting: Potence used in disproportionate retribution. Use of a discipline to completely dominate a foe. Use of Disciplines when they are not needed
      • Solitary setting: Using Celerity or Potence to jump roof tops recklessly.
      • Masquerade Breaches: This is NOT required. However, it can occur and it will clear the Compulsion immediately. Please consider how and where the power is being used. This only needs to shift the flow of the scene to the inappropriate or outrageous.
  • Repetition: Banned
