Finally,How To Roll
When you are attempting to roll you can see all the available commands for RoD by typing / into the channel, make sure it is RoD and not a different bot.
Each command has different uses and variables you can input.
Standard Roll
So if you want to make a standard roll you’ll select Dice Roll and from there you input your pool, which is going to be your attribute+skill and does not include any bonus dice from blood surge, specializations, etc. This will be calculated through a different option.
After inputting your values, you need to hit tab (on desktop) or tap the next option you want (mobile devices).
For Character insert their name, we suggest using a full name to make searching easier.
Next is Hunger, which you just input the number for.
Then Difficulty, which you also just put the number assigned in unless it has no Difficulty.
Finally, you need to use Notes to write down what the roll is, aka “Attribute + Skill + Anything else, what the roll is for.” This really helps the ST figure out what’s going on with your rolls. If this is for a hunt, please mark down the location where this is being done.
This is helpful for us but also for you when you have multiple and are looking for rolls to do purchases.
Note: You must fill in what the pool is built of and what character is doing it. Else it will be voided and you must reroll. If something is missing, you are able to quickly write it down beneath the roll before someone else rolls. Otherwise ping staff and let them know the void the roll, we ask that staff do the voiding for confirmation. Staff cannot void their own rolls.
Additional stuff for the standard rolls.
- In the cases where you have a speciality that applies, please type in the name of speciality, it will auto add a die for you.
- When you use Blood Surge you simply input the blood potency of your character and it will auto add to the dice given to your character’s BP.
- Rouse, in cases (Not including Blood Surge) where a rouse may be needed such as using a discipline you may select Rouse. If you have the ability to roll more than one die for that rouse check, select Reroll.
- We do not use auto-hunger nor do we use the character sheets built-in.
Resonance
For Resonances, there is also a command called Resonance. During a regular hunt you will not need to input anything. Unless you’ve done inducement or this is from a herd the other fields should be left blank. If you performance an inducement to create a resonance or your herd already has a resonance, then select Resonance again and input which it is. (edited)

How many dice do you roll?
Your number of dice is usually the sum of the number of dots you have in a specific Attribute and Skill combined, more rarely the sum of two Attributes. You can also add in an additional die for specializations if they are applicable to the roll at hand, and you may always increase your pool via a Blood Surge (see section). At times, specific Merits or Backgrounds may give bonus dice at the ST’s discretion.
What’s a Hunger Die?
Hunger dice represent the current level of Hunger your character is at. When you have 1 Hunger, you will always roll 1 Hunger die and so on and so forth. Hunger dice are part of your pool: therefore, if your total pool is 5 and your Hunger level is 2, you will roll three normal dice and two Hunger dice. Follow the instructions above to roll properly with our bot.
Can I reroll dice?
You may reroll up to three regular dice by spending 1 point of Willpower, in order to achieve the needed number of successes. You may only reroll dice once per roll, and you cannot reroll Hunger dice. On server, you will type /rr to activate an automatic reroll: this will reroll any three failed dice.
You may also pick which number results to reroll, for example to avoid a Messy Critical. In this case, you must type the specific results that you wish rerolled, up to three.
Example: for a roll that resulted in 2 3 7 10 and a 10 in your Hunger pool, you may type /rr 2 3 10. This will reroll one of your 10’s as well as two failed dice. Please check all further instructions in our #plz-roll-here channel.
Common Dice Sets
None of these are set in stone and they can always be maneuvered around, but you will almost always roll with one Attribute and one Skill, though Attribute+Attribute rolls are possible. You will never stack two Skills, nor more than two stats, in order to create a larger pool. The only ways to increase your pools are a Blood Surge, the applicability of a specialization, or on occasion, bonuses from your Merits (such as Contacts or Status). There’s a list of ideas here.
Is there somewhere to test the dice bot?
There is a thread inside of the rolling channel for testing you are free to use, but none of those rolls may be counted in play.
