Server Rulings
How to make a Rouse Check
Roll a single die, the bot contains a specific command called “Rouse” for this purpose. Those with Humanity 8+ or other factors such as Discipline level 1 reroll that allow them to roll two dice may use the reroll feature and take the highest value.
What are Rouse Checks for?
- Awakening each night, done when the character wakes up.
- Blood bonding, when drank directly from the vein if giving a rouse worth versus just a sip.
- Blush of Life, done when activating the power.
- Discipline powers, generally done when activating the power and some have extra rouse checks to extend the power.
- Ghouling, done by giving a rouse check worth of vitae.
- Mending damage, superficial can be healed anytime with Rouse Check(s) whereas Aggravated may only be done when the character first wakes up and three rouse checks must be made.
Does Failing a Rouse Check matter?
This only matters in the sense the character increases Hunger by 1. (for Oblivion a 1 or 10 means they take a Stain for the cost of the power)
The power or action still happens regardless of the Rouse Check failing, until another roll fails that’s part of the attempt.
Hunger increases apply after the roll that needed the Rouse Check. Example: Surge on a hunting roll means that they will gain that Hunger (if the RC failed) after they have hunted the person and slaked. So a new hunting test will be needed if they wish to remove that Hunger.
